This was such a lovely event! It was so wonderful hearing about the restaurant and its efforts to grow their own produce or buy locally. I was especially excited to learn that the honey glaze on the wings were from the Porch's own beehives in Oakland. The wings were less flavorful than I expected from that, but the actual honeycomb was divine.
Seeing the growing from the early stages of the restaurant was informative and I loved learning about making my own container gardens! Staff was friendly and attentive.
The featured strawberry mint margarita was delicious, if a little sweeter than I'd normally enjoy. Salted rim on the glass would have cut this I think, but they were making so many so that would have been a bigger hassle than it was worth, I think.
The bruchetta appetizer was my favorite. The avocado was especially delicious.
