  • Planned a day to tour local distilleries here in Charlotte and this was our first stop. We loved it so much, it should have been the last stop! After paying for the tour, you are given a Muddy River shot glass and can return anytime with it to receive a free tour. Robbie was our guide/host, and he was amazing. He gave us a very detailed history of the business, the process to make the products, and pretty much let us know how passionate he and his wife, Caroline, is about it all. It was the best tour I've been on (and I've been on quite a few), and I loved every product I was able to try. I have a coconut allergy, so instead of trying the coconut rum, I got to pick a different alcohol to re-sample, lol. My favorites were the Peach Shine, Armaretto Shine, Queen Charlotte's, and a special surprise secret were able to sample. We enjoyed ourselves so much and the products, that we already planned to return in the fall for the Queen Charlotte's 4yr barrel opening (I cannot think of what it's actually called, lol).
