| - Moving to the Robinson area a few years ago the Giant Eagle Market District was the first place I went for groceries ... never heard of the place, but happened to pass by, and am glad I found it. This place rocks! How many grocery stores has a bar in it? I have to admit that when I go there to shop and stop at the bar first I don't tend to buy what I came for .... minus one star for making me drink when I should be getting milk and eggs ... the store's fault not mine ...
So anyways, great deli, meats, bakery, produce and even an international aisle where I can find German products... um real sauerkraut and pickles ... thank you. The seafood is ok, but considering I come from the Seattle area .... let's move on.
Beer selection is great over in the food court area. Beer laws in PA pretty much suck so I can only get two six packs at a time ... but I can keep coming in from the car. Plain stupid. Anyways, a lot of good microbrews and a nice selection of some favorites from the West Coast (Rogue, Elysian, Lagunitas).
Food Court is very convenient for lunch, or last minute dinner needs. I hate to admit, but my first Christmas here since I didn't know anyone I ate my Christmas Eve dinner here. Turkey, stuffing and mashed potatos. Wasn't like home, but hit the spot.
Sure this place can get expensive in certain areas, but great quality, cleanliness and the staff is very nice. If you come on weekends it is a mad house, but then again most of the Robinson area is like that.
