I was sent here to spend the night during my monthly military weekend. When I arrived at the hotel, I and two other guests had to wait at least five minutes for the desk clerk, who was a teenager. She was "looking for empty rooms" one of the guests told me. Um, okay. She eventually arrived, and I asked about tax exempt forms, which are usual for government rate hotels. She said she'd have to ask her manager. I got my keys and went to my room.
When I went in, the room was tiny and dark. It reeked of cigarette smoke. I called the front desk and on the second time trying to reach it, asked if this was a non-smoking room. The teenager at the front desk said she'd have to--you guessed it--ask her manager.
It was as I was talking to her that I noticed that the security latch on the door had been removed. Oh HELL no. I went home for the night, 90 mile drive or not.
The next day I showed the photo again to the person who had made the reservation. He observed that it looked like the door had been kicked in in the past. I try to make it a practice not to stay in places where doors get kicked in, and advise everyone reading this to do the same.
