I can't believe I still haven't written a review on this delicious cute brunch place in Madison. Perhaps it is the long wait that has delayed my writing as well. Marigold is a gem in Madison, almost every item on the menu I've tried I enjoyed. I also really like the pastries they have - the scones are my favorite.
I wouldn't suggest this as a place for groups, 4 would be the maximum I would go with. Do be prepared to wait, they are small, and they are very VERY popular. However, the new system makes the waiting much more civilized.
1) Order at the counter
2) The waiter/waitress host will let you know when your seat is available.
I love the potatoes. very very very good.
Breakfast sandwich - get it with the sunny side up and your world is complete.
Duck confit salad - very good price and very nice and soft meat. oh so flavorful
I tried the chilquiles but I was disappointed that my chips were soggy.... The flavor was good but soggy chips are NOT MY THING :( I would definitely ask for chips on the side in the future....
So, come by with a small group, get the potatoes. wonderful breakfast! yes, it is available weekdays too!!
