| - We came here the other night to watch a movie and I was brought back to my teenage days of paying for one movie and sneaking into three, we called it movie marathon night - we also smuggled in our own drinks and snacks. Eastgate was good to us, we never got caught - and it made up such a big portion of my teenage weekends of cruising around the mall to check out other teenagers, go rollerskating at the now closed down Rollerdrome, and catch some movies afterwards.
I like Eastgate, they haven't changed much since I was a kid and I like the old time feel to the place. Eastgate was old even when I was a kid. There's nothing fancy here, no reclining seats, the screen is average, nothing special. Teenagers still make up the majority of the staff here, the food is still woefully overpriced, and the decor the exact same.
I think it is inevitable Eastgate will eventually be torn down, they can no longer compete and the new east side will soon be Sun Prairie with all of it's up and coming construction projects... Urban Sprawl at it's finest.
