| - Located in the corner of Eastern and Pebble next to the Colonnade Theatre, Prosecco Italian is a welcome change to that location. Having friends that recently became employees there, my husband and I decided to give it a try.
Arriving around 9 we were immediately seated. Red shade lighting hangs overhead and setting is slightly intimate.
Cocktails orders placed and add bruschetta, the cocktails came and were stiff, bruschetta on crispy Ciabatta with delicious yellow and red heirloom tomatoes with a zesty seasoning was a good start to the meal. Food ordered, squid ink spaghetti and prawns, and Chicken Marsala.
I'd requested the prawns in a spicy fra diavlo sauce which he said he could do, however when it arrived it was essentially plain tomato sauce, totally void of any sort of heat. The prawns were huge though, I must say. My hubby's Chicken Marsala was pretty tasty, accompanied with baby carrots and a handful of green beans, artfully arranged on a long rectangular plate.
Service was attentive and friendly. The owner (I think he said his name was Giuseppe) came over briefly and introduced himself.
Dinner minus tip was $122. Kind of steep for two at a strip mall Italian place, but I would consider returning. I like supporting small mom-n-pop places.
