I am so excited for this store! Just opened and it's gorgeous! Love how friendly everyone is but I do have some constructive criticism for the store managers. I was there today and the place was hopping with managers everywhere fixing displays and loading merchandise. That is awesome but they have their focus on these things rather than things I noticed.
For example: the produce section was out of bags except for two holders. The produce manager was there, why didn't he notice this little detail?
At the back of the store a manager busted out of the back warehouse and nearly ran me over. Woah! Slow down buddy! What if I was my little Nana? She'd had snatched your earlobe and filled it with some words not fit for children. He never saw me. Please slow down.
The front end had three cashiers open which was perfect for the time I was there but the self checkout was closed I think. The whole station didn't have any registers lit up at all. I would have rather checked myself out. Just my personal opinion it if I don't have a lot I like to save the regular line for moms with kids or elderly.
I had to take care of something at the front service desk and a manager who was helping walked away and stood right outside the door to the service area looking around. It would have been nice if she had stayed in and helped Marina. There was a line and the poor lady was being yelled at by a customer and still no manager stepped in to assist. Reminder, a manager was not more than 6 feet from this outburst. At one point I noticed that another employee came into the service desk and comforted Marina, when she left I see two more managers standing right outside the service center door. It shouldn't be my place to call for a manager and as busy as Marina was she was doing her best. Should she have made a phone call for help? I don't know but perhaps she knew what I knew.. that three managers were in earshot but ignoring the situation.
I have 22 yrs experience in management and it is my opinion that these managers in particular are poorly trained. My training is that even if it isn't your area, you step in and assist where there is need. An employee being yelled at is a need. Customers just want to be heard. I almost wanted to step in and get the upset customer some help but, not my farm and not my cows.
My four stars is for the overall appearance of the store and the quality of the merchandise rather than the little things I noticed and for the two shining stars. Marina at the front service desk and the friendly lady who walks around greeting customers and up selling the credit card (I have forgotten her name).
