| - Normally, I will not pay a visit to any business with less than a three star rating, be it a restaurant or anything else. However, I unfortunately did not read the Yelp reviews prior to visiting Absolute Dental. I wish I had.
My daughter is looking to get braces, so I scheduled her a consultation for April 1, 2017. Our appointment time was for 1pm. We arrived on time, and since we're new clients we had to fill out paperwork. I returned the paperwork within 5 minutes and was told that someone would be calling us back. At approximately 1:20 pm, my daughter began to question why she hadn't been called back yet, seeing as her appointment was at 1pm and there were hardly any other patients in the lobby. At 1:35pm I inquired about how much longer the wait would be. I was told about 10 more minutes. Fine, whatever. It was about 1:55pm when, finally, someone called my daughter's name.
We get to the back and wait for someone. After about 10 minutes, a man approaches my daughter, I suppose he was the dentist? (not sure, he never introduced himself) The man had my daughter open her mouth and he did a visual inspection, to determine if she would be a good candidate for braces. I'm not too clear on what he determined because, though I'm the parent, and was sitting very close to my child, he did not once relay his findings to me. (Though I was within close proximity to both my daughter and the dentist, I could not make out what he was saying). I did ask my daughter, in his presence, what he'd said and she did the best she could to explain. He then tells us someone will come and discuss dental options with us within 10 minutes.
Here's the main reason I will not return: So, some older lady comes back to where my daughter and I are and starts explaining something in dental terms that I just couldn't understand. We've gone to the dentist time and time again, (not this one) but what the lady was telling me was completely unfamiliar to me. I simply just did not understand, so I politely asked her to please elaborate on what all of it meant. She rudely shoots back "Okay, it means basically what I just told you." Um, oooooookayyyyy, evidently I did not comprehend what you just told me, otherwise why the heck would I ask for more clarification?
She did not seem as though she was interested in keeping us as future clients, so I told my daughter, "Nope! Let's go!" We'll find a different place where questions, feedback and further explanation of things are accepted and not responded to with an attitude.
The two stars I provided are for the young lady's working at the front desk. They were professional in their conduct and seemed friendly. No problems with them whatsoever.
