  • Food And WiFi - Pretty Much All I Need SITREP Okay. Quick & to the point: so I'm NOT THRILLED about a 7+ HR layover here from 11:30pm to 7am. But at least they got stuff to bide the time. THE SETUP I need to check these Travelocity "great deals!" a bit better, such as scrutinizing the connecting flight times - too often focus on just "price" when I need to spend more time looking at connecting flight timelines. * On the way to my friends Savanna & Trevor's wedding in Exuma, I had only 50 mins between flights in Dallas, and then only 40 mins between flights in Miami. I nearly missed this last flight since it was in a separate terminal building entirely away from the other four. * On the way back, however, I had a 6 HR layover in Miami only to be outmatched by that 7 HR layover in Phoenix I already referenced above. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/phoenix-sky-harbor-international-airport-terminal-4-phoenix?select=OH_9aghLWoB8lIehBcL9-Q&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w WIFI TABLES! But at least they had FREE WIFI and tables with power for both the laptops and the smartphones! If I had to stay awake, at least I was able to go through emails, write Yelp reviews, catch up stalking friends on Facebook, even watch an episode of Game of Thrones. FOOD! At first I stayed in the terminal where the Miami flight arrived, and here I enjoyed a tuna sub sandwich from Wildflower Bread Company at 11pm. [And I was hungry since I hadn't eaten in nearly six (6) hours while in Miami.] https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/phoenix-sky-harbor-international-airport-terminal-4-phoenix?select=xYpnq3HaTG_JqO36P0sHPg&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w Around 3am in the morning when the terminal was overtaken by all the maintenance crew with their power vacs and other noisy contraptions, I decided to finally move to the terminal where my departing flight would be, and was pleasantly surprised to find The Refuge Coffee! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/phoenix-sky-harbor-international-airport-terminal-4-phoenix?select=q7LCieSfDwJykLL6eaum-g&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w I snagged me a breakfast burrito at (and a mocha) around 4:30am from The Refuge Coffee. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/phoenix-sky-harbor-international-airport-terminal-4-phoenix?select=p0Nu2WAnAx6ftJSQrqRKSg&userid=3mNz5nQFTIBQm0oU5mBR0w THE LOWDOWN Between food and wifi - and an ergonomically sufficient seat space to adequately chill - I was doing pretty okay this long-ass layover.
