Wife and I just spent six days here and had a very enjoyable experience. Stay in the Palms Tower! very quiet and relaxing. Large spacious bathroom....closet had loads of room....bed ultra comfortable. Special kudos to the maid service..they were terrific. The pool here is the superstar...very large and clean..nice waterfall..plenty of lifeguards(needs to open earlier than 9am!)..... Loads of chairs..no jockeying for position with your towels(need more umbrellas to shield us from the blazing sunshine).... Plenty of vegetation and foliage on the grounds..nice serene pathways..everything is kept up perfectly. Wife did her yoga class every morning---had the instructor to herself most days.(spa needs a management re-tune. tried to book some services twice--no one answers the phone/no one on duty). The restaurants here are just OK...Summerlin has very good choices just a few miles in either direction.. There is a Starbucks and the Promenade Cafe is fine for a basic breakfast. The attached casino..the Rampart..is a smokey hangout for old timer locals....don't confuse it with the Bellagio....but in a pinch..its fine and friendly. If you want a spot away from the bright lights and noise of the Strip...you will not find a better place than JW Marriott/Las Vegas.
