| - I kinda wish I never found this place. I've been living here for over 10 years and just visited this place for the first time - and oh man, if I didn't have better self-control, I probably would've destroyed my wallet. Yes it's a bit pricy, but you actually can taste the difference, and I don't regret spending the $100. Not even one bit.
The butchery is not very big, but they keep the entire place very tidy and clean. There is no smell of meat, and everything looks amazing - I wish I had a bigger stomach to ingest everything. Their beef, pork, chicken, charcuteries, prepared dinners, even their butter, all looked like they were begging to be eaten. I ended up buying 3 New York steaks, some spices, prosciutto, and duck pâté before I stopped myself from buying more. Yeah it came out to quite a bit of money, but I wanted to see if it was worth it.
Aside from the pâté, which I thought was a little bland, everything was worth every penny (or nickel? Not sure if that saying still holds). I fried up the New York steaks hoping I don't mess it up and wasting $100, and even though I didn't necessarily cook it to its potential, it actually tasted as good as something I would get from the Keg. I also severely overestimated how much meat I could realistically consume and I probably would've been fine eating half what I ate, but I stuffed it all down to get my money's worth.
The prosciutto was one of the very few times where I found it to be not too salty! Every single time I buy prosciutto, I find that it's always drenched in salt and my mouth gets super dry after, but the prosciutto here actually just tastes like prosciutto, not a handful of salt. I also had some butter with bread and it was one of the first times I actually really tasted the detailed rich flavours of butter - it's hard to eat bread with any other butter knowing that this exists down the street from me :(
I will be back very soon to try some of their other stuff - particularly their prepared foods as they looked delicious. I know my wallet will hate me, my heart will also probably hate me, but meh, it's all worth it.
