So, they pretty much have every office supply one needs. The store is organized well enough. It's not always clean. A lot of the time it's pretty hard to find a helpful employee.
Here's what I don't like: they play games with the reams of paper they sell. You practically have to have an engineering calculator with you to figure out the best price deal. Copy paper is copy paper after all.
They have what they call "easy" rebates. You pay full price, they print off a half mile of receipt paper and you have to jump through hoops to register your rebate. And, then you wait. And, you wait. Best to keep all of your documentation. Twice in the last couple years, I've supposedly successfully registered for the rebate only to track it weeks later and come up blank. This time I was paying close attention. It took a lot of extra work for the rebate redemption to be magically "found" after it mysteriously disappeared. A Staples associate - not from the store - said it'd take another couple weeks. Well, it's been 4 and still no rebate. It's still tracking in their system, though.
Here's an idea: forget the jump-through-hoops game playing and just have fair everyday pricing.
Office Max isn't a great alternative. Many of their employees seem to be doing nothing more than marking time off a clock though there is a really great guy at the location at the Scottsdale Promenade.
