How can you call yourself a wine bar if you can't go there to drink wine? ugh...
Went on a Thursday evening at 9pm (the place closes at 11pm) with four friends.
There was a private party/event at the front of the establishment and there was one table with customers in the dining area and the bar was empty.
We asked to be seated and were asked if we were eating or just having wine. We were just having wine and were told that the dining area is for eating only and that we'd have to sit at the bar. For two people sitting at a bar is fine, but that doesn't work for four people; not a all conducive to conversation. Oddly the dining area was almost completely empty 2 hours before closing. Were they expecting some kind of 9:30 dinner rush?? Not likely in Toronto....
Having these hard inflexible rules just doesn't work. I understand that you get more $$ from people that eat and drink. But when your establishment is empty at 9pm on a Thursday why not let four lovely ladies sit at a table and have some wine that they would gladly pay for.
In the end we gladly paid for wine at another establishment.
