It seems like there are two basic types of coffee shops:
There are the ones that have a great coffee, but lack a comfortable environment. (ie. pretentious baristas; elbow-to-elbow-to-elbow seating or no seating.)
Then there are the places that seem to understand environments that have no clue how to make a good cup of coffee/espresso (even if they had good beans to begin with.)
Coffee Buddha proves that you can make a outstanding cup of coffee and provide a welcoming environment to all (including dogs!)
Coffee: Great beans and they know how to use them.
Environment: Nice large renovated house, large room and coffee counter downstairs. 4 or 5 rooms upstairs each with their own theme, including a meditation room with floor mat if that's your thing.
Additional Perks: Pet friendly porch and side yard with lead. Free wi-fi. Large Screen TVs playing cult classic films. Friendly Staff.
Hands down my favorite coffee shop in and around Pittsburgh.
