I'd give Planet Hollywood four stars if it were not for the incredibly loud dance music they play in the casino all night, and at the pool during the day.
Like many other hotels on the Strip, we arrived on a side street and into the lower level of the hotel where the parking is and where the lobby is located. The rest of the public spaces for Planet Hollywood and the casino is on the second floor, which makes the pedestrian access to Planet Hollywood on the elevated sidewalk /plaza a floor above Las Vegas Boulevard.
We checked in and got upgraded to a larger room! Not sure why we were upgraded. The room was large and adequately appointed. The room had a large foyer that seemed like a waste of space. It could easily have been cut in half and added to the bathroom, but the bathroom was already huge. A counter on each side with a sink in each counter. Shower and soaking tub. Great.
Housekeeping was great. We noticed two light bulbs out in our room. I told a housekeeper and it got fixed before we returned.
Everyone at Planet Hollywood was very nice. Hard rock band in one of the lounges playing for free. Scantily clad gals dancing on platforms in the middle of the casino - nice touch! Big sports book action.
Easy access to the Miracle Mile shopping mall, Axis theater for the Britney Spears show, and the V Theater for some smaller shows. 20 min. walk to Showcase Mall, or to Caesars, and across the street from the Cosmopolitan. Good location on the Strip that can save a little money on taxis.
Two pools. Adequate. Easy check in around 8p on a Friday night. Free Wi-Fi for guests because you already paid for the $25 daily resort fee.
