  • In order to change my contract and not get their insurance, this location is making me drive back to return the car to them and re-rent it. They also never pick up their phone. Terrible customer service. I will never rent from Hertz again. UPDATE: The manager of this location, Tom, tried to help, and was at least attempting to explain their policies and be kind to me. Thus, one big star for Tom! Well, most of his policies were to protect me from the "nefarious" deeds of Hertz employees. So, to protect me from their OWN employees, my contract cannot be changed. (Does WTF apply here?!?!) However, Tom was not given enough power to make any changes to my contract, which is a terrible thing for Hertz, or any company, to do to it's managers. I just wanted to opt out of the insurance. In the end, I ended up on the phone for hours today with them and Travelocity, trying to get this situation straightened out. The record keeping at Hertz is poor - at one time they told me I had a voucher through Orbitz. At one time they told me I had a voucher through Hotwire. Neither is correct. I called the Pittsburgh Hertz desk location at least 12 times and they never answered my calls - but they would call me back Hours later. Fun day. I spend hours driving the car back to the airport. When I arrived, they said that the car I had just brought back was rented to someone else and confusion ensued. ?!?! That agent wasted even more of my time trying to track down my contract and which car I had. Why are they so disorganized?! That service rep also thought that he could have fixed the problem, but Tom already said that "90% chance they couldn't honor my voucher". So, much much much confusion on their end, about their OWN policies. I ended up with no rental car and trying to figure out what to do without transportation once I had returned their car. (One star for the sweet little car I had for a day!). I am on the #nohertz bandwagon. I'm finding all the #downwithhertz hashtags. I am #hertzsucks indoctrinated. It's a new dawn, it's a new age - is it UBER time?!
