| - This is a very special place - you should definitely watch a 15 minute film at one of those visitor centers. We almost missed it at Boston Store Visitor Center because the film was shown upstairs. It tells the story of how Cuyahoga Valley NP came to be, about a lot of people's effort, and amazing restoration of nature from the previously polluted dump with the help of park service. You appreciate everything there so much more after watching that film. Long live ... into perpetuity... Cuyahoga Valley NP!
Before watching the film, I quite didn't know what Cuyahoga Valley was all about - like many reviewers say ... unlike other NPs, there are no spectacular geographical formations here ... beautiful ones, yes, but not stupendous or unbelievable ones. This place makes me think of Central Park in New York City - only it's much bigger in scale and it's located outside of the city limit, not inside of it. It's well utilized by people who live nearby for multiple activities such as biking, hiking and outdoor music concert, conservation education, art show, etc. - and it is also well cared for. Thus you find things like cute gift items at Visitor Center.
And that ice cream place across the street from Boston Store had a local organic ice cream cup with huge chunks of chocolate! Yum.
