| - I've been going to Downtown a lot this Summer, and I do tend to pass through "The Fitz" on a good portion of those adventures.
As far as casinos go, it's not amazing, but it does have a few things going for it.
The upstairs is a little nicer than expected. I haven't tried their steakhouse, but it looks potentially reasonable. The bar doesn't look bad, either.
I've never stayed here, so I can't verify the validity of a friend's claim who has, but he said sleeping on their beds was like sleeping on a plank of wood. Of course, he dislikes the Fitz in general, so he may be biased. It is also due to this dislike that I have bought him a number of Fitz souvenirs in the past. The wearied look on his face has makes it money well spent for me. Yes, my reasons for liking this place are twisted.
Their outside sign is one of my personal favorites, and looks great at night (especially when ziplining past it), and the best time to visit is easily St. Patrick's Day, as they really play up their "Irish" theme, and the drinks flow like the Mighty Mississippi.
The place isn't glamorous by any means, but it adds to the overall personality of Fremont Street. And as I've mentioned in the past, it's the personality of the area that draws me back again and again and again.
