Updated review:
I hate rating the Bellagio poker room so low. I love the hotel in general but the poker room has too many problems and doesn't really feel like anyone cares. As a local a consistent poker player of thought of writing a guidebook for the different rooms.
The major concerns with Bellagio's room are the caps are too small, the dealers and floor are either burnt out or just don't care and room is poorly laid out. Less important but still annoying is if you want a soda they have very few waitresses and the glasses are tiny.
The pros are you're likely to find more games going than any other room. There is a good mix of tourists so it's not always all regulars and if you want limit it may be the only place to play. I just hate feeling unappreciated and seeing so many errors every time I play there
Probably the best games in town. It's worth dealing with the miserable staff sometimes to play here.
However, I find more mistakes made here than any room I play in (Wynn, Aria, Venetian and even Red rock sometimes). I'm not sure if the staff is grandfathered in and just don't care or what. However it starts the minute you arrive. I don't care if they're just standing there doing nothing. When you arrive you have to work hard to get acknowledged. The front people will start to do anything except help you get to a table or get on a list. Even when I've called in it's like it's a big hassle for them to do their job.
Then the dealers will burn and turn pre mature, won't announce raises and tons of other things. I saw a $5,000 pot at a 5/10 game with 3 errors on one hand that definitely could have changed outcome. I couldn't believe the player in the hand who lost didn't complain. I know it's a tipping industry. And, I tip just fine (better than most poker players). But, this room it's more of a requirement than something you do for good service.
It's a real shame. Should be best room in town.
Oh, forget it if you want a drink. You're lucky if cocktail server comes once every 45 minutes. Way understaffed.
