  • Last night came home, turned on the Vizio HD 42 inch screen only to find the picture and sound flickering. Did some basic trouble-shooting to no avail. Began internet searching for TV repair in the Tempe/PHX area-starting with Yelp...The reviews really did help, but when I checked Better Business Bureau, Bob's TV Service was not listed. That had me concerned. Next morning, did a general Internet search, and of course found several companies...One, ConsumerTech TV Repair showed on their website they were BB certified; when I checked, they were not. So, perhaps the BB certification may not matter... I kept going back to the yelp reviews and gave Bob's TV Service a call a little after 8:00am this morning. I am SO glad I did! I was actually speaking with Bob who was friendly, and took down my information, and said a technician, Jesse was in the east valley and could possibly check out our TV that day. Bob went on to explain that it could either of 2 things- a problem with the supply power which could be fixed at home, or a signal board issue that would require the TV brought into the shop. Within less than 45 minutes, Bob called back to say Jesse would be by between 11:30-12:30. Jesse actually arrived earlier than that...a professional, friendly young man who went right to work on the TV...checked remote response, cord issues, and determined the problem was due to the signal board (and even explained why/how he came to that conclusion). Service charge and fee for coming out was $85 which would then be applied to cost of repair. About 2 hours later, Bob called to say what the problem was-"replace caps on y-PCB" for a charge of 194.50. I had already started pricing TV replacements (around $499.00 and higher), so we went ahead with the repair. Believe it or not, Jesse returned with the TV and by 2:00 we were with TV again!!! When Bob called to say Jesse could return the TV that day, he jokingly stated, "Now I hope you don't get spoiled by this one-day service!" Really nice gentleman!!! I let both Bob and Jesse know that I used Yelp reviews to make my decision to use their service. Sure am glad I did... Thank you Yelpers and thank you Jesse and Bob for how you responded to our need!
