There's not very many HK Cafes in Mississauga but Papa John's gets by as a bakery hybrid joint. Obviously they're known for their baked goods (their pineapple bun is seriously delicious!) But they do have other cooked meals, and they're definitely passable.
What I mean is that this place is essentially a bakery with the buns in the displays and then there's a little seating section and counter where you pick up your food from the kitchen. There isn't too much seating and everything is essentially self-serve.
For a simple brunch we settled on the satay beef vermicelli, and the pineapple bun with tomato and egg. The satay beef was okay but the satay flavoring could have been a bit stronger. What is liked here was the large amount of noodles and the fact that their was also a good amount of beans sprouts and lettuce. It was only $6 and included a toast which we upgraded to their signature pineapple bun, and a tea or coffee. Their HK style tea is very good here and was deep and rich. The pineapple bun was incredibly flaky. The exterior was crusty while the bun itself was nice and soft. It worked well with the fried egg and tomato but it seemed like something you can do at home with their pineapple buns.
