I went to see Mark Knopfler last fall at the Pearl, and had front row seating. It was completely cool. The sound quality, perfect. So if you are one of us who are particular about what your hearing at your concerts, then this is a good choice for venue. I have worked with sound crews and run sound before for local bands back east, and knew that the Pearl was built specifically to be a theater where artists have perfect acoustics and the option to record a "live" album (cd), that's why it is tall and shallow.
That is also why the staff are picky about what people bring in, some electronics can interfere with the house sound or video and could cause a real problem. They did let us record with phones though, so not too bad. Great place.
