I have been a paying member for 11 months and was coming here for 3 months prior as a guest. Thought it was so great at first with being right downtown and a lot cheaper than any of the other gyms in the area. But I realized that their maintenance sucks. A lot of their equipment is broke most of the time. Their assisted pull-up machine hasn't worked since I've been going there. Even half the bulbs in the tanning bed have been blown out since July with no replacement. You tell the employees but they don't seem to care. The icing on the cake is the hit or miss customer service.
The last straw with them was when I went into the gym this evening and the employee working never acknowledged me or looked in my direction, because he was too busy talking to his friend about unrelated gym conversation. The employee just held out his hand (for my gym tag) never breaking eye contact with his friend as he continued his personal conversation and stamped my parking ticket, again without breaking eye contact with his friend. Then I needed a towel, so I just stood there for 15 seconds before he just grabbed a towel and tossed it to me again without even looking in my direction or stopping his personal conversation. I could tell by his body language he was annoyed by me being there and causing him to actually do work.
I can tolerate a lot of things but horrible customer service isn't one of them. I sent a request immediately to abc financial to cancel my membership and got a new membership to LA Fitness for only $5 more a month.
I hope management reads this and has cameras where they can see exactly what I'm talking about. The friends I referred and had joined while I was there also sent in a request to cancel their membership this evening. We'll all be taking our business elsewhere.
