| - INVISALIGN EXPERIENCE WITH DR. MARIKA AT SUMMERHILL GARDENS DENTAL
DR. MARIKA:
Dr. Marika is lovely lady, but there are two things I'd like to mention about her. She wasn't very thorough with my check-ups. She rushed the appointments when she was behind on schedule, which, if you keep reading till the end, you'll know it's completely normal at their location. It bothers me that from the beginning to the end, they gave me a feeling that they wanted to take my easy money and get it over with ASAP, whether it be appointments, or the treatment itself. And this brings me to my next point -
Towards the end of my treatment, she told me my teeth looked perfect even when they could use a little more help and time. I knew they weren't perfect but when I pointed out the "problems", she actually said "aren't you just being a little bit OCD?", in those exact words, and I found that to be really unprofessional. Some of the "problems" I told her about were actually brought up by my other dentist who noticed them while doing my regular cleaning and oral check-ups. If it wasn't for the price, I would have had it done with my other dentist.
DENTAL STAFF:
Whether you have your treatment with Dr. Marika or other dentists at Summerhill Gardens Dental, make sure you ask your DENTIST not the ASSISTANT for information or instructions. Their staff changes often and some are not as well-trained as others, and they will not take responsibility for any misinformation given by previous staff that doesn't work there anymore. One of the previous assistants told me it was okay that I hadn't had any of my wisdom teeth removed, but guess what, my wisdom teeth ended up intruding the progress, costing me extra half a year for the treatment. And as much as I am satisfied with Dr. Marika, one of her other previous assistants gave me wrong instructions for my retainers, and this cost me an extra $600. I don't want to completely put the blame on them, but make sure you hear the words from the professional, not the assistant.
ADMINISTRATION STAFF:
What I was most dissatisfied about was actually the administration staff at her office. They somehow managed to always mess up my appointments some way or another - either they gave me the wrong date/time, or they forgot to keep your appointment on file at all. I was always a few minutes early for my appointments but I had to wait for at least 30-45 minutes every time, and today I waited for OVER AN HOUR for a quick retainer check-up that only lasted for 8 minutes. The receptionist clearly booked me an hour before Dr. Marika's shift and she wasn't even apologetic. I complained to Dr. Marika during the appointment and she actually said "Well, you see, I was volunteering this morning" and I was speechless. Let's be honest, scheduling appointments isn't rocket science. They are just extremely disorganized and unprofessional.
SUMMARY:
All in all, if 1) you really want Invisalign and you don't want to pay full-price 2) you have at least an hour to spare for very short appointments every so often 3) if you are patient with awful customer service and administration, Summerhill Gardens Dental is the place to go. The place is decked out with awards and trophies for Invisalign treatment and honestly, the price really can't be beat. Good luck.
