  • These people don't even deserve one star! I had my car stolen from my boyfriends garage a few weeks ago with 2 weeks worth of belongings as I was finishing up loading it to head back to Ca. It was recovered yesterday morning but because I was out of the state and could not be back within 30 mins to claim it, Metro had it towed for "safe keeping" to the Ewing Bros tow yard. I understood the towing was necessary so I didn't fight it. I called the tow yard, and explained the situation, and told the woman that the vehicle was registered in CA but stolen in Vegas and that I would be driving from CA to get it, I asked what documentation was necessary to claim and pick up my now recovered stolen vehicle so I could get everything ready prior to leaving the state. She stated I needed license, registration or title and insurance (all up to date of course), I then explained that the vehicle was still financed so the title would be unavailable and that the registration would have been in the glove compartment. She then said I didn't need to worry and that if for any reason the registration could not be located in the car that I could use the police report in its place, which seemed reasonable since the police report does state the registration info. I still felt uneasy so 30 mins into my trip I called again to verify and confirm the documentation needed. The same lady picked up and told me the same thing. So I continued. Once I arrived to Las Vegas, I stopped at Metro to get an updated police report just in case, and then headed to the tow yard where I was rudely told that the police report would not suffice and that I had to figure out how to get a duplicate registration because there was no documentation found in my vehicle!!!! That would've been nice to know when I was in CA! Apparently calling twice to double check with these people is not enough!! I kept my calm, and explained to the woman that I had never done any of this before, so I asked if in her experience have out of state DMV's been willing to fax over a copy in the past? She looked at me like an idiot and gave a super sarcastic response! I then proceeded to ask if I could at least look at the condition of the vehicle so that I could give my insurance adjuster an update... Answer was a huge rude no, this beotch wouldn't even look at me! I then left infuriated and spent the next few hours trying to figure out how I could get a duplicate faxed, but had no luck. So this morning we had to drive all the way back to Needles, CA, which was the closest Ca DMV, so that we could get a duplicate registration for the damn car. Now to try again! I'm sure they're going to make it an amazingly horrific experience yet again! So let's continue to tally up the charges. I was 1 out of the 5 people in line at the time and only one person was able to claim her car. No wonder they have so many cars to auction off! They're making a business out of screwing people that already had something unfortunate occur to them. I understand if someone's car was towed for parking where not permitted, but really, why make it difficult for the people that can't control what was taken out of the car because IT WAS STOLEN!!!!! A@#holes!
