| - we had staff in various rooms, so I was able to see the difference between my room (very old, worn, very little functioned properly) and my staff's rooms (much nicer, recently refurb'd, everything new/working), but the website and phone staff made it seem that the entire hotel was done.
Parking was difficult; the workers closed off access on both sides at one point in time. For nearly $50 a day, one would expect the car to be pampered, washed, and polished instead of being told to come back and park in a few hours, dust everywhere, etc.
The staff were terrific. They know they're selling a sub-standard product and are cheerful and helpful in spite of their situation. Taking two elevators to get to our rooms was not pleasant, broken down escalators wasn't wonderful, and as several have mentioned, the food in the in-house bar was pretty bad, particularly for the price. Strange odors of dry mold pervade the place, pretty much everywhere.
Downtown in any city is never inexpensive, but this seemed as though everything was at a far premium, particularly the parking.
I'm sure the place will be amazing once the remod is done, but that's a long way off from today.
Regardless, don't expect *this* Omni to be like any other, even after it's done.
