  • BACKGROUND I've struggled with my grief about losing my two amazing animals, but I need to finally take the time to write the review. I had 2 dogs and a kitty. My big doggie, Clopi, and my kitty, Rocky, got sick around the same time. I tried and tried to do everything I could to prolong their lives, but it became time to put them both down. So I called A Peaceful Farewell. I have to thank 1st Pet Veterinary and Arizona Veterinary Oncology for their help with my pets. Make sure to read my reviews of 1st Pet Veterinary and Arizona Veterinary Oncology. A PEACEFUL FAREWELL Mission Statement: "Our mission is to provide professional, compassionate care and offer dignity to the end-of-life passing of your companion animal in the relaxed, comfortable, and peaceful environment of your home." HISTORY A Peaceful Farewell was established in 2013, by Dr. Kristin Lawmaster and Dr. Todd Lawmaster, a husband and wife team, who have over 15 years of experience in small animal medicine. A Peaceful Farewell was born from an emotional personal experience when Dr. Lawmaster's parents made the compassionate decision to euthanize their beloved golden retriever, Cheyenne. When the time came though, the Drs. Lawmaster were on a family camping trip in Northern Arizona so it was decided that her parents would drive all the way from California to meet them at the campsite. This was a heartbreaking and stressful situation for everyone, but it was made easier when they witnessed how clearly happy and relaxed Cheyenne was in this beautiful setting, among the pine trees, and surrounded by those who loved her. When it was over, Dr. Lawmaster couldn't help thinking to herself how lucky their dog was to depart in such a comforting environment. She wished every pet could have a similar experience within the sanctity of familiarity of their own home. THE STORY Many friends that had to make the decision to put their pets down told me that in-home euthanasia is the best option. Predominately because the trip to the vet clinic can often give your pet a burst of adrenaline, which makes the pet seem like it has rebounded. Although, the effects are temporary, many are left with guilt and second thoughts, that maybe the pet suddenly got better and that they were wrong to put the pet down. Once I decided that it was time, I called A Peaceful Farewell and spoke with Dr. Lawmaster. Dr. Lawmaster was VERY compassionate at one of the worst times of my life, for which I am extremely grateful. I scheduled a time, and she came to my home. There's no need to go further in the story, but I can't thank her enough for making such a hard time as easy as possible. CONCLUSION If you are ever in the situation of having to put a pet down in the Phoenix area, A Peaceful Farewell is definitely the only way to go. 5/5 RECOMMEND *For more information: apeacefulfarewell.com
