Just walked out of here and writing this while the memory is fresh. I've had the privilege of eating in 2 of Emeril's restaurants in NOLA and have never had a bad meal. Not even a mediocre meal. I was wondering how tonight would be since it is Vegas and the namesake chef I'm sure is fairly removed from how this place is run.
I can tell you that it was a fantastic meal. The tome of a wine list has great variety and selections at every price point. The Sazerac was one of the best ever. The servers were friendly and accommodating, and the food was as good as it gets. The tasting menu was a bargain not just for what was on it in terms of ingredients but the portions were full sized for all 4 courses. I love tasting menus because they give you a chance to try a lot of things but every one I have ordered from in my life makes up for the discounted price by making the portions smaller. The portions here tonight were large and created a situation where we could not finish it all. Couple that with a wine flight and it was a memorable meal.
The service was great. Ever present but casual and not over-bearing. When one of the wines tasted a bit off and I asked about it, there was a replacement to something else without hesitation. I've seen some reviews here for slow service but during my visit, they were on their game.
Highlights of the meal were pretty much everything but the stars of the night declared at my table were the Sazerac, the gumbo and the warm pecan pie with vanilla ice cream. Next time, instead of breaking the bank with the hedonistic tasting menu, I'm going to just order those 3 things so my wallet retains its shape and I don't have to feel guilty about not finishing everything.
