  • The best part of trekking to SL for a coat was stumbling upon Higher Ground down the street. If you want a quality coat based on real, specialized knowledge, go to Higher Ground and talk to the owner. Super friendly. Went to Sporting Life due to their wide range of women's winter coats. Problem is the winter-wear staff don't know anything about their products and sort of point you towards big racks to just start aimlessly look. They did read a couple labels and ask another staff member, but they were no help. The manager was apologetic but also not great. Huge contrast with the owner of HG, who gave me personalized service and found me the perfect coat.
