| - We've been here several times before for both late night drinks and for dinner with our dog. We've always had an "okay" experience overall with decent food and service, fun atmosphere. This time was so bad that we walked out before being seated.
The valet was rude and the hosts were even worse. We walked in through the front (something we've done with the dog before) and while a friendly male host greeted us a short blonde girl ran over and told us to take the dog to the back patio because she wasn't allowed there. We hurried out.
The host at the back patio didn't say a word to us so it took me a minute to figure out that he was the host. He took my name and told us it'd be a 35-40 minute wait, but that we could also check in for the front patio to see if anything opened up there sooner. I told him we had just been turned away from there, to which he responded, "THE FRONT PATIO!" as though I was either an idiot or hard of hearing. So, back to the front I went while my father and his dog waited outside so as not to be scolded again for bringing her into the host stand.
The blonde girl was at the host stand, so I approached her and politely asked if we could put our name in for seating at the front patio as well. With an appalling attitude she stated, "You're already on the list for the back? Well, we have NO seating here, either. There's NOTHING up here." I told her that I understood, but that the other host suggested our names be put on this list as well since it's such a long wait. "Uh, okay, I guess I can put you're name in and you can just see which one opens up first!" (Not a bad thing to say, but the way she said it was awful!) Frustrated by her attitude, I responded, "Well yeah, that makes sense, right? That's what the other host told us to do, too." She watched with a look of disgust as I took one of the complimentary dog treats for our dog to snack on while we waited (something we're usually encouraged to do!).
Having been in the customer service industry for about 15 years, poor service is a hot button for me. No matter how busy, employees (especially those who are the first faces the customers encounter) need to maintain their composure and be friendly and empathetic. We decided to leave and go to one of the many other locations nearby where the employees take pride in their work and know how to treat others with kindness.
