| - The patio seating is BEAUTIFUL! A friend of mine and I went in for a late lunch/early dinner on a rainy rainy day. The little lake that we sat next to had ducks and geese. Simply breathtaking.
As we got in, the hostess informed us that they were switching from the brunch menu to the dinner menu and that we wouldn't be able to order until 4pm. She asked if we still wanted to be seated and we said yes. She told us she would bring a menu to us at 4. I don't understand why we weren't able to get it before just to take a look at it but okay. Also, until we got our 4pm dinner menu, we weren't served any bread while we waited for the kitchen though other tables around us were already eating, it's only common that we should be served at least some bread while we sipped our wine. Maybe that's not how they do it. I don't know. Being a first time customer there, we didn't know that if we wanted to get a bottle of wine, we'd have to get up and grab one and bring it to the table. Our server finally informed us of that so we took off to search for the perfect bottle to match our to be perfect meal. The wine, was great. We had a few different plates to share and I was so excited for the foie gras. Unfortunately, I was also pretty disappointed. I have had many foie in my life, this... wasn't what I expected. The server, after telling him our disappointment, told us we should have gotten the seared foie.... Why he didn't suggest it when we ordered the "wrong" foie, is beyond me.
The duck breast we had was very tasty. The seared salmon was a little thick on the crispy greasy end. The salad... kind of pathetic. The pate on the sampling plate was however, probably the single best thing I tasted that evening besides the wine.
Service was casual, but not first time friendly so do your research before you go here. I will say, they have one of the most serene view in vegas.
