| - I went in for an oil change and to have my brakes checked here yesterday. After checking the brakes, the owner informs me that the brake master cylinder needs to be replaced, that the hoses are also old and the front pads should be replaced. He called and got a quote on the master cylinder parts, adds on the hoses and pads which comes out to about $368 with parts and labor, which is obnoxious. Then he starts rattling on about a radiator flush that would have cost me another almost $80. When he mentions the oil change that I asked him to do in the first place, it went from $15.99, as its posted outside, to $25.00. Now I'm no master mechanic, but I'm not stupid, his math isn't even making any sense. So when I inform him that I am going to put a hold on the brake work and have them just do the oil change, he proceeds to start YELLING at me, saying that the truck isn't "driveable". Supposedly, if he releases the truck with the brake issues, and something happens, his shop will be liable and he can be arrested and put in jail. I knew what was wrong with the brakes before I walked in the door, the truck isn't dangerous. After he throws his little hissy fit, I tell him to go ahead with the oil change. I'm about 95% sure that never got done, because once I turned him down for the brake work, he had the guy pull my truck around almost immediately. NOT TO MENTION that the invoice that they gave me had more than half a dozen typos on it. (i.e. "Invoioce", "undersood", "responibility", "yoou", "furture"). It goes without saying that I won't be taking my vehicle here again, and I would advise against anyone else taking theirs either!
