I've been a frequent (multiple times a week) member for years. Equipment is old and rarely updated and it's always a gamble if there will be a treadmill/elliptical that works with a TV that works or with closed captioning that works. The front desk staff are very hit or miss, but in the past year or so it's been a near-constant miss. The past few months, they're always out of towels. The men's showers are generally out of soap, and the scale isn't calibrated correctly so it doesn't tell you much.
So why do I stay? Well, it's usually empty aside from the obvious peak months when the seasons change. Also, all of the classes are included, and the instructors do a great job. And it's really the best feeling to be alone in the sauna.
Club One sort of sucks but it's in a nice way. Most of the time I can forgive the lame emails or the broken machines. It's only sometimes that I get frustrated, but then I remember the alternative might be worse. And it's really a hassle to cancel your membership. That's where they all get you.
