I don't often write letters of recommendation because I don't often receive the level of service and satisfaction that Mr. Brad Au Young provided in our search for a new Honda. He changed the experience of car buying from something that I dreaded into an event I'll remember.
We originally came to the dealership several weeks ago to find a Civic for our friend who was looking for a dependable, affordable car as her first purchase. We settled on a new two door coupe and Mr. Young starting looking at her financial options. At this point in time she didn't have very much established credit history so Mr. Young explained how much purchasing or leasing would cost her.
The bottom line was she wouldn't be able to afford the car, and we felt the same way - it was simply not a viable option. Some other sales people would have pushed her to buy the car even if it was a financial stretch for her, but Mr. Young didn't. He was always kind and patient with us, a truly refreshing experience and one that earned my respect and loyalty.
At the same time we inquired about our options for a new Pilot, and after obtaining our information he came back with the numbers. Again, it was beyond our comfort zone so we didn't purchase a vehicle that day, but we always kept thinking about it and how to improve the numbers. We did check back a few weeks later and looked into trading in my vehicle at the time, a 2000 Mercedes ML 320, but due to its age and mileage it would not change the equation significantly.
Finally, on this Thanksgiving holiday, we had saved enough to make a substantial down payment. We came in on Friday after also looking into the Costco New Vehicle purchase program that my father (also a customer of yours and also named Ruben) told us about. Mr. Young was able to give us the Costco price and that along with the down payment and trade-in made the payments for our new 2015 Pilot easily within our comfort zone. We took delivery of the vehicle that day (Friday, November 28, 2014) and it has been wonderful.
Mr. Young's kindness, patience, attention and overall service were above and beyond my expectations. He even went back to retrieve a GPS unit we had left in the Mercedes. I look forward to doing more business with Mr. Young and Findlay Honda, and when it comes time to replace our Civic, I shall look for his assistance once again.
