I visited the Oaks for both a facial and back facial and was impressed. I've recently moved into the area and dreaded the thought of having to find a good therapist for facials - I've sensitive, combination and dehydrated skin and many products (e.g. Dermalogica) do not work well for me. I've found that the more natural approach and therapists who actually mix their own concoctions or can deviate from the set schedule of having to use a particular cleanser, exfoliater and mask for the chosen facial, works much better for me....plus your skin changes each time you visit, so modifying the products for each treatment makes sense to me.
Anyhow, I found the treatment beneficial and although it wasn't just as good as the therapist I'd been visiting at home for the last three years, it definitely came close, and was a very good starting point. I know my new therapist has only begun to get to know my skin and what works for me, so things can only get better. Plus she offered a few tips on new cleansers and moisturizers to try (as my loved brand is extremely expensive to purchase in the US), which I found very helpful.
I can always judge a good facial by how long it is before I know I need to go back (which is usually the 10 - 12 week mark) and I got about 8-9 weeks from my first at Oaks. I'll definitely be back as they have therapists who specialize in different areas of treatment and if you want to speak to that therapist before your treatment they will return your call and schedule a time for you to pop in for a consultation, or what I liked better was that my therapist was happy for me to make an appointment and she assessed what was best for me there and then...so I didn't have to make a couple of trips.
As with any facials I've had before....you definitely need to go home straight after as your hair will be a bit of a mess :) but that's a small price to pay for a well-worth-the-money treatment.
