Today I was not feeling good, so I went to Healthcare Partners on Wynn Road. I got there at 2:35 and wasn't seen until 5:45 pm. I was very patient because I knew that it was an Urgent Care. One thing I do have to say, is the care provided by the doctors is not good. First of all my doctor wanted me to take a sonogram and asked for some urine to test. I turned in the urine and waited for another 1/2 hour and no tech to take me in for the sonogram. I wasn't feeling good and decided to ask what was going on. One of the nurses said they had to call a tech to come out and do the test. This raised concern because this is an outside tech that Healthcare Partners called. So I was in the process of asking for a script or referral to have this done where my insurance will pay and the tech shows up. I ask her if they took my insurance, she said she did not know and I would be responsible for payment if it was not covered. I decided not to take the test and again asked for the referral to go and get the test done. The doctor refused me of the referral and did not test my urine either. She was really upset because I questioned if the tests were covered by my insurance, REALLY UPSET. She said it was an urgent care and I would have to go to a doctor to get referrals for tests. This is hard to believe because I have had blood tests done before and was given a form with the tests that were requested and I went to the contracted LAB.
BEWARE of the costs that can be up to you to pay if you do not go with the contracted LABS or RADIOLOGY. I had tests covered by my insurance that could of cost $1600.00 for the type of tests my doctor wanted. I know MRI and CT scans aren't cheap either and also sonograms. So if you are sick, be aware of the hidden costs HEALTH CARE PARTNERS could possibly spring on you at your time of need. They do not care if you end up with a large bill at the end, as long as they get their money from the insurance for the poor care they give you. I paid my co pay in advance and ended up with no care at all.
BE CAREFUL, ASK QUESTIONS AND BE INFORMED OF WHAT LABS AND RADIOLOGY YOUR INSURANCE WILL PAY FOR BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR TESTS!!\
I AM FINDING A NEW DOCTOR TOMORROW AND NEVER GOING TO HEALTHCARE PARTNERS EVER AGAIN!!!
