| - Very, very good tea place. The door looks like just a hole in the wall but when you emerge from the stairs, it looks like you've walked into a quaint, old-timey library.
We had the two for two, and chose to have 2 different pots of tea instead of 1 large one. We chose the trout sandwich, which was deliciously savoury, as well as the sausage rolls (instead of the bacon and cheese muffins). All the food was really good but the highlight was the scone for sure - probably the best scone we had in the city.
The food was very good but to be honest, I was glad we came here before we went to Le Parloir, because that place is the best tea room I've been. But not having been there, Le Cardinal was very nice too. I didn't love as much of the items in the tea set as compared to other places, but everything was house made and high quality. The service could have been a bit more attentive, but it wasn't a big deal.
This place is very well-located so if you come when the weather is nice, it'd be wonderful to follow up afternoon tea with a stroll in the area!
Also, there's plenty of free street parking, which is very convenient.
