| - I have a feeling in the Pitt of my stomach that this might be the last review I ever do.
OK, the feeling passed.
Pitt is one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. It's got a splendid hospital, many grand old buildings, some sparkling new ones, some awesomely-designed rotunda-style residence halls, and best of all, it has the dominant, towering, sensational Cathedral of Learning. One of the most beautiful buildings in all the country, and it's not even religious. It's now a college building, and I've been in there and it's amazing.
My first experience here was when I took the guided tour of the whole campus. I had been offered a scholarship here and I loved all of it. I spent the night here, in the UPMC hospital actually. Long story. I didn't take the scholarship because I got a free ride down in Virginia, but I wanted to. The girls here are sensational too. Pittsburgh girls in general are, not just at this college. I dated a girl from this campus and visited her a lot. She is now a fashion designer. Hi, if you're reading. Miss you. I first met her inside the Cathedral Of Learning. So this whole campus has wonderful memories for me and I go back often.
Pitt isn't the friendliest city though, and the people I interacted with here (who worked for the Uni) didn't exactly fill me with desire to come here. Otherwise I may have. Plus it's very very cold in the winter and the winter lasts a long time. But Pitt is one of the most beautiful and underrated cities in the country. It's also got some of the best food, including India On Wheels - Pitt's very best - right here on campus.
Here's a list of all the amazing food you can enjoy in Pitt if you are a student here.
- India On Wheels (a truck) has the best Chicken Tikka Masala in the country.
- Gaucho has one of the best steak sandwiches in the world, try ALL the sauces.
- Las Palmas taco stand on Brookline has the best rib eye taco I've had. It's authentic Mexican.
- Burgatory has the Morty's Steakhouse (best burger in Pitt) and good shakes.
- Groceria Merante has insanely good deli sandwiches, omgz.
- Boba Bar (Ross Park Mall) and Love Yogurt for Milk Tea.
- I Tea Cafe for Bubble Tea & Taiwanese Food.
- Istanbul Grille for all kinds of Turkish platters and Gyros. Greek Gourmet also for Gyros.
- Yovi's for Chicago Dogs & other Chicago food.
- Bob's Big Shot for "Old Bay Wet" wings. Best wings outside Buffalo in USA.
Also Aiello & Fiori Pizza slices, Groceria Italiana, Mike & Tony's for Gyros, Smallman St Deli for sandwiches, Chick N Bubbly & Sumi's Cakery for Bubble Milk Tea, Rose Tea Cafe for Chunk Chicken, D's 6 Pax for Chicago Dogs, Waffallonia for authentic Belgian waffles with Spekuloos.
Oh for Pitt's sake, this is already too long. That's what she said.
