I may not be the biggest fan of barbecue, but Midwood was really something else. We came on a Sunday afternoon and sat out on the porch, thoroughly enjoying the laid back atmosphere and beautiful weather.
Our order included a Bloody Mary ($3 off that day), a Combo platter with the chopped pork, beef brisket, St. Louis ribs, and smoked sausage and sides of mac and cheese and bacon wrapped jalapeƱos. We also added a side of burnt ends. My favourite meat would have to be the beef brisket - it was the perfect balance of lean and fatty meat. Pair that with Midwood's signature bbq sauce and you're solid. The ribs were also very tender. Although the burnt ends were packed with flavour, the meat was a bit tough for me since it was fully cooked through.
Aside from enjoying all the meats, I thought the sides were alright. I would have preferred a runnier consistency for the mac and cheese, and I am just not too fond of bacon in general.
I would highly recommend this place!
