  • For some reason every time I go to this Sephora I get the most overbearing and condescending clerk. This time was the worst. I asked where they kept the brush gift sets, and after she showed me she hovered and repeatedly recommend the mineral brush set. I don't use mineral make up (not that she bothered to ask) and I wasn't interested. I was specifically looking for a denser foundation brush for liquid foundation. I asked if I could open a different set and she said of course and opened one up and handed it to me. After I ran one of the brushes on the back of my hand she FLIPPED out (apparently the set she opened and handed to me wasn't a tester) and proceeded to condescendingly ask "now how would you feel if you bought these brushes and someone ran their oily hands all over it?" I said nothing- it was a misunderstanding -she opened it, I assumed I could touch them since you can't really tell anything about a brush by just staring at it. ...that being said, who doesn't wash their brushes before they use them? I'm assuming the clerk sensed my discomfort (my friend shopping with me had to literally turn away because it was so absurd) and she tried to save the situation by doing her job and asking me what I was looking for. I explained I wanted a dense foundation brush that I could use to buff liquid foundation NOT a flat foundation brush because those tend to look streaky on my skin. Her response? "Oh well that one wouldn't work anyway, that's a powder brush." (I noticed) "You'll want a foundation brush... like one of these" (she points to all of the flat foundation brushes I didn't want) Great! I'm glad you're listening to me talk and taking me seriously! It sounds like a small thing but her repeated attitude has completely turned me off from this location. I showed up today with the intention of spending a lot for the holidays and left with nothing. The great thing about Sephora is that you can go there and geek out about make-up with the like minded individuals that work there... not uppity women who barely know the difference between a powder brush and a foundation brush and assumes you don't either.
