| - I've been coming here since they opened several years ago...I think 2010? Heard it was owned by the same people who own Seamus. Its like a more upscale Seamus. At first, they were great. They had great happy hour drink (imperial pints for $4), 1/2 off appetizers that were meals. You could get your buzz on and eat for less than $15. Great place for after work. Waitresses were very attentive and friendly. They added OTB, and it was real fun betting ponies. THey had pretty decent live music.
Then about 2 years ago, they must have had a change in management, because all the familiar waitresses and bar tenders were gone. Menu went through a couple incarnations. They were less friendly. Then later the got rid of the OTB to attract the younger hipster crowd, I guess. Makes sense if that were the case, with Angels Trumpet opening just a few doors down. I found myself going to Turf less and less, because I found I had less and less a good time, each time I went.
I can't put my finger on it, but Turf has lost its mojo, and there are better places to go that are in the same general area.
I recommend at least giving it a try.
