| - I just completed a 3 day trip in Las Vegas that included a different steakhouse every night. We started at N9NE in the Palms, moved to Bobby Flay's Mesa Grille at Ceaser's and wrapped up with Del Frisco's. I thought N9NE was going to be hard to beat, but Del Frisco's is in a whole different class. Far and away the best of our trip and the best steakhouse I've been to.
A few recommendations... If you're having wine with dinner, ask for Steve Quenzer, the Sommelier. We gave him a price range, our plans for dinner and turned him loose. He hit the wine out of the park every time we asked his advice and really made our dinner experience. If you get the opportunity to try a Saxum wine, don't pass it up.
As far as the food, two words.... Kobe Beef! Worth every penny, and yes its quite a few of them. Hands down the best steak I've ever had. Simply fantastic. Sides are ala carte, as you'd expect in a fine chop house, and all were outstanding. Don't skip the Mac-n-cheese.
Finally, I really have to give a tip of the hat to the manager Jacque Viloria. She was kind enough to take 3 guys from So Cal on a tour of the restaurant and their impressive wine cellar, even though it was a busy Saturday night. She was friendly, approachable and a key part of a perfect dinner. She obviously knows the importance of customer service and runs a first class operation. And, if you're really nice, she might even show you what's under the "Do Not Touch" table. ;)
Desserts; bread pudding, HUGE lemon cake, a fantastic chocolate cake, fine French wine, mmmmm... Oh, and don't forget the cigar room and port. What a dinner experience!
Del Frisco's is #2 of my top 10 dinners, and will be will be on my must see list every time I find my way to Vegas. Enjoy.
