ok i think i've mastered the art of the AYCE menu here now. lol
not sure why but the meal i had last night seemed to be better than my other visits. maybe because i didn't over order this time which i tend to do.
btw you may be wondering why i keep coming back here if i'm so unhappy with the service... it's because it's so close to where i stay.. and my friends like it and good company makes everything better.
so last night we started with some appetizers while we waited for a couple other friends to arrive. once they came we ordered rolls.. then continued with nigiri.. and finished off with dessert. a few appetizers were thrown in here and there.. and this strategy definitely worked.
stars of the night:
house salad: i really liked their dressing.. it was kinda a peanut ginger-y dressing. super refreshing and a decent size. it can definitely be shared
baked green mussels: not too fishy tasting and the sauce on top is super creamy and delicious
oysters: max order is 1 per person which comes with 4 oysters... tasty!
sexy roll: i believe it has fried unagi on top with yum yum scallops inside and a creamy mango sauce on top... my favorite of the night.
agedashi tofu: their version is really tasty. the tofu itself stays crisp on the outside even after its been sitting there for a few minutes.. and the sauce is perfect.. not bland at all
premium spider roll: with avocado and cream cheese and possibly unagi on top. cant remember but it was deeeelicious!
service was ok in the beginning but really began to slow down as it got busy. we were seated in the area sectioned off to the side so it was easy to forget about us.. and we sure felt forgotten at times.
as for dessert they were out of mochi the last time we were there.. this time they didnt have the strawberry. ooo my friends were super disappointed :(
tip: monday and tuesdays they have a 2 for 1 house sake special :)
