| - The hotel is cosmetically very nice. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are quite nice too. There's also a great selection of restaurants. We ate at Scarpetta, Wicked Spoon and Holstein's and there are several others I would have tried if we had more time. The location is good too. It's very convenient to the Vdara, Aria and Bellagio, and not a bad walk even as far as the Venetian and the MGM Grand. The housekeeping staff was always friendly. The casino floor is smoky, as all of them are, but because this is a newer building, the smoke has not sunk into the carpets and upholstery the same way it has at the older hotels and so it generally reeks a bit less.
The crowd here is less diverse than in other Vegas hotels I've stayed in. At most hotels, there are a mix of young couples, older couples, bachelor/bachelorette parties, families, etc. During our entire 4 day stay here, we didn't see any families or anyone over 40. It's all young people here and they're mostly in huge groups and falling down drunk. It made for some interesting elevator rides. It also made for trouble sleeping. Our first day there (which happened to be my birthday) we were woken up at 7 am (after going to bed at 1 am due to a late flight) by the people next door yelling and blasting music. We made a noise complaint but as far as I can tell the hotel didn't do anything. I also wouldn't describe most people here as super attractive. If you like the Jersey Shore look, then maybe.
We tried to go to the Bamboo Pool, which is described as the "relaxing" pool (obviously we didn't even try to go to the "party" pool). Even this pool was packed and loud in the middle of the day, but it was quieter when we went again around 5 pm. By then, the pool itself was littered with the day's debris though, including cigars and beer cans. Gross!
Every time we walked outside the valet area (non-strip side of the hotel), we saw multiple roaches crawling around (and I've never seen one elsewhere on a Vegas sidewalk). I never saw one in our room, but they fact that there were so many right outside the hotel made me wonder what was going on inside the hotel.
I would not come back here (although to be fair I always like to stay somewhere new in Vegas because there are so many options), but I can see how this would be a fun place if your primary goal is partying.
