  • When someone has a strong passion, you can see it reflected in their work. This is what crossed my mind during my Wife and my first visit to Petit Philippe. We stopped in for a pre-dinner drink since we live close-by. While talking with Tim, the manager working that night, I enjoyed our conversations about wine and was blown away with his thorough knowledge of the wine selection currently in the shop. The owner, Mike, specializes in sourcing wines from micro production wineries in both France and California. Don't be afraid to engage in a little discussion with anyone in the store, as they can help point you in the right direction based on your tastes. I also noticed that while the wine bottles had a range of pricing, overall I found them to be very reasonable. We settled on a syrah blend which we opened and enjoyed in the shop. As you can tell from the other reviews, they also have chocolates which they make onsite. Having a sweet tooth myself, we indulged and got one caramel and one french roast chocolate. They were exquisite, and I hope to try the Highlander in the future - a chocolate infused with scotch! One of my favorite aspects of this place was the size and atmosphere. We ended up spending a good chunk of the evening here relaxing, talking, and making friends with people around us. I really enjoyed the experience and look forward to going back for one of their specialty dinners or their carefully picked wine flights!
