| - I have mixed reviews for this company, but will try to be as objective as possible. I recently received hair and make up services from Glam Squad for my wedding party and I.
Pros: Mitch, who dealt with communication and scheduling ahead of the event, was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. He did the hair styling for most of the wedding party and they were pleased with the outcome. James did a great job with makeup for myself and my maid of honor. He's a quiet guy, but not rude or unfriendly.
Cons: there was a shift change or something in the middle of our appointment, so the makeup artist (who did a fabulous job on one bridesmaid) left and another woman took her place. Although she was sweet, she was not as good as the first artist and two other bridesmaids ended up fixing their own makeup. Also, everyone seemed incredibly rushed, which made it uncomfortable to ask for alterations or fix ups. They weren't unpleasant (as I have seen in other reviews), just very clearly in a hurry. They get booked for a lot of events so they need to be brisk to keep all of their appointments. Another downside is that, after your initial deposit, you can only pay in cash the day of the service. Depending on how many people are getting services, that is a huge pile of cash to have on hand! It is clearly stated in their service agreement, so no surprise, but I found it inconvenient what with all the other cash needed on hand for the day (for tipping, etc).
If you're thinking of booking with this company, I recommend having photos (from Pinterest or wherever) available for the type of hair and makeup you're looking for. I didn't hate my hair, but it wasn't what I wanted and I would have helped them out by having a couple of images available ahead of time.
