On previous visits to this location, I was pleased by the customer service, as they took a quick look at one of my Swiss watches and provided some valuable information.
More recently, there appears to be a move by Swatch group and its related companies to consolidate their business and jack the prices by making parts and repair services simply unavailable except by paying nosebleed prices. They appear be adopting a monopolistic approach, in the same vein as certain US drug companies.
I recently asked this service location to provide a quote on fixing a watch that had stopped and they came back with a price of nearly a thousand dollars ! The watch is only worth $500 to $600 ! Does this make any sense ? Since that time I took the watch to private watchsmith who fixed it for me in 5 minutes, at a fraction of the price quoted by these pirates.
Somebody please report these bandits to the Federal Competition Bureau. They need it.
