  • My first one star rating I have ever had to give but this hotel deserves it. We live 3 hours away and we had Cavaliers tickets for January 30th. We booked a room on December 3rd and our credit card points were charged. Upon arriving to the hotel around 6:15pm, we were told their garage was completely full so we had to park somewhere else. $20 later after we parked on the very top of a parking garage, we walked up to the counter to check in counter. We asked if they offer validated parking and we were told no. After the lady kept fussing with her computer for a couple of minutes, we were told that they had no rooms available. We were in shock! We reminded them we had a reservation that was paid for already but that didn't matter. We had specifically picked this hotel so we could walk to the arena. After about a half hour of confusion trying to fix this problem, they told us that they found a room available at the intercontinental hotel which was 6 miles away. At this point we didn't have enough time to drive to another hotel then drive back and pay for parking again so we left our bags at the residence inn. I could not enjoy the game after that experience. After driving all day I did not want to wait in a long line of cars to head to the other hotel when the game was over (again, that's the reason we booked it at the Residence Inn). We ended up leaving in the third quarter because I was having anxiety over the experience. There are 2 things the hotel could of done to have fix the situation a little better. First, the lady at check-in was cold. If she would have shown a little more compassion, maybe I would of felt better. The gentleman who was the supervisor was easier to deal with. Second, THEY COULD OF CALLED US BEFORE WE ARRIVED!!!! No one called to let us know the situation that was going on. This would have saved us a lot of grief if this problem was taken care of earlier in the day. They did cover the cost of our stay at the other hotel which is why they deserve 1 star instead of zero. I may upgrade my review if they credit us the money for the room.
