| - Going to Mezza Notte Trattoria last Friday, I saw across the street, a burger joint "Now Open" for business. I thought I would try it one day in the future. Fast forward just 5 days, lo and behold... the future has arrived! Hahaha!!!
I was around the Promenade Mall area today and decided, let's hit up that new burger joint. I had no idea what to expect because I hadn't read any reviews or heard of this franchise yet. From Discera Drive, I popped in and immediately, there was a seating area with all tables of peeps chowing down on burgers! I walked into the place, old school pictures from 1950s America everywhere and... the corridor was kind of narrow before the ordering area. You'll know what I'm talking about when you enter. Surprise! The staff, registers and menus overhead!
Totally new to this place, all the staff greet, smile and asked if I needed to be served. I asked the cashier, "What's your recommendation on your most popular burger?" He let me know that it's the ORIGINAL FATBURGER which I have to try first before any other burger. Good 'ole American burger. Saw the picture to the side and fell in love! Salivating, succulent meat. For $6.99, that's the one I had to get. I asked the cashier when they opened up and if there were any others in the country and he said, "Last Friday and many in BC & Alberta"! It was the first one in Ontario. So when I saw "Now Open" across the street last week, it was their opening day! Wow! Great timing and good location.
On my Original Fatburger, it came with all the toppings listed on the side menu. Also, you can add 2 FREE toppings to the burger itself. Excited to add, I got JalapeƱo Peppers and Onion Rings to the burger. Wonderful!
We took a number to our seat and the food was served to us in a couple o' minutes. Burger looked scrumptous (look at my picture below). I bit into it and the taste was preeeetty happening. Condiments were absolutely fresh and crunchy. The bun was plump and intact. The beef patty was soft and delicious, although, not as juicy as I would have liked it but there was this nice, distinct taste about the entire burger. I was happy with it. By the time I had finished by burger, it became busy and there was a huge line-up. I guess a lot of people in the Thornhill area needed a new burger fix. I am most definitely coming back to order again and either get it with cheese and slam a poutine at the same time. The pictures around the place does it justice. Give it a try! It's not a Goody's Burger, Priest Burger or Holy Chuck Burger but it's a close 2nd. No harminit!
